Message from Chairman / CEO
For many years, we have diligently worked to understand and address our material sustainability impacts. We are now formally disclosing our performance and setting ambitious targets. My focus is on establishing a sustainability culture within the Company, where every employee recognizes that their individual efforts make a meaningful difference. By leveraging our cultural traditions and heritage, we aim to transition towards a truly global, diverse, and inclusive workforce.
We have made significant progress towards our ambitious targets, including reducing our GHG emissions by 45% by 2030 (from a 2022 baseline) and achieving net-zero emissions for all our services by 2050. I want to highlight the dedication of our global workforce, who have embraced the Japanese concept of Jibun goto (personal matter). This concept embodies the proactive choice of taking ownership of challenges rather than expecting them to resolve on their own or relying on others to address them. While we remain focused on the future, true ownership of our sustainability challenges and opportunities is realized through meaningful actions taken in the present.
Hiroki Harada, Chairman / CEO
Materiality assessment
- Understanding the material sustainability impacts of our business is essential to minimising the environmental and social impacts of our operations. At the same time, we aim to maximise the positive impacts of our business. The materiality scan involves interviews with our senior management, employees and customers by external experts and is used to identify material issues for disclosure. The global materiality assessment and identification process will be published in 2025.

Global Sustainability Report
In September 2024, we published our Sustainability Report 2024. This is an important step towards transparently sharing our commitments and achievements towards a sustainable future.
The report details our activities and achievements in the areas of environmental protection, social engagement and governance. In particular, it focuses on a wide range of initiatives, such as reducing our carbon footprint, increasing our use of renewable energy, developing employee engagement and strengthening corporate governance.
The report also provides a roadmap for sustainable growth by outlining future goals and plans. We hope that it will help stakeholders to understand the Group's vision and commitment to both social and business growth.
